Dosage form:

100 tablets in a PET including leaflet inside the box.  

 Ingredients:  

Chebulic myrobalan, Belleric myrobalan, Emblic myrobalan, Gugal gum, Lavender flower, Dodder, Golden shower tree fruit, Turpeth.  

 Product description: 

GugaTrip or gugal triphala contains bulk laxative herbs such as gugal and golden shower tree fruit and also laxatives such as senna and turpeth besides myrobalans which soften stool and facilitates defecation. In Iranian traditional medicine this product is used for cold temperament disorders and phlegm excretion so it is useful for hemorrhoids, constipation and anal fissure.   

 Indications:

1-Constipation, bloating, flatulence.

2-Hemorrhoids and anal fissure.

3- Colitis and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).  

 Mechanism of action:

Myrobalans have high antioxidant power because of Tannin content. Emblic myrobalan is high in Ascorbic acid and can be effective in mucous formation in gastrointestinal system.Gugal contains sesquiterpenoids and guggulsterones which exerts antiinflammatory and neuromuscular blocking effects.Dodder has laxative effects.

 Dosage: 

Unless otherwise prescribed, take 1-2 tablets after each meal. 

 Side effects:

Diarrhea and anorexia in some cases may occurs.  

 Contraindications: 

In case of allergy to any component of medicine.

 Interactions: 

With laxatives.   

 Cautions: 

1- If it is prescribed with other laxatives, the dosage of laxatives must be reduced.

2- Complete the treatment period which is at least 1-2 months.

3- If you forget a dose, skip it and continue your normal schedule.   

 Notes:

This medicament heals the disease after treatment period and is not a pain reliever.    

 Using during pregnancy:

Restricted.    

 Using during lactation:

It may change the taste of milk and may cause mild diarrhea in infants.
