Dosage form:

100 tablets in the PET including leaflet inside a box.  

Ingredients:  

Chebulic myrobalan, Belleric myrobalan, Emblic myrobalan, Dodder, Turpeth, Anise, Damascus rose, Viper’s bugloss.  

Product description: 

DodderTrip or dodder triphala contains tranquilizing and liver tonic herbs besides myrobalans. Since a major cause of migrains, morning headaches and fatigue is liver and digestive complications, the presence of liver regenerating herbs in this formulation helps to improve the effectiveness of sedative herbs (such as Red rose, Viper’s bugloss). In Iranian traditional medicine, DodderTrip is used for stomach and brain purification, melancholy treatment and excretion of black bile and phlegm.  

Indications:

1- Headaches, migraines specially morning headaches.

2- Arthritis and joint pains.

3- Backache, sciatic pains and other bone inflammatory conditions. 

Mechanism of action:

According to studies Dodder can induce GABA release and activate its receptors.Viper’s bugloss contains phenolic and cyanidin compounds and has antidepressant and anxiolytic effects. It also has antiinflammatory effects by COX inhibition. Red rose contains ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), flavonoids and long-chain unsaturated fatty acids so it’s a potent antioxidant and has antidepressant and neuroprotective effects.Turpeth has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.Myrobalans have high antioxidant power because of Tannin content. Emblic myrobalan is high in Ascorbic acid and can be effective in mucous formation in gastrointestinal system.

Dosage: 

Unless otherwise prescribed, take 1-2 tablets after each meal.  

Side effects:

It may cause diarrhea and abdominal cramps which will reduce gradually during treatment period.   

Contraindications: 

In case of allergy to any component of medicine.   

Interactions: 

With laxatives.   

Cautions: 

1- If it prescribes with laxatives, the dosage of laxatives must be reduced.

2- Complete the treatment period which is at least 1-2 months.

3- If you forget a dose, skip it and continue your normal schedule.   

Notes:

This medication heals the disease after treatment period and is not a pain reliever.   

Using during pregnancy:

Not recommended due to abdominal spasms which may cause abortion.  

Using during lactation:

It may change the taste of milk and may cause mild diarrhea in infants.
