Dosage form: 

30 sugar coated tablets in a PET with leaflet inside a box.  

 

 

Active ingredients:

Each tablet contains:

Valerian dried extract…..100mg

Passion flower dried extract...30 mg.  

 

 

Indications:

1) Treatment of anxiety, insomnia and sleep disturbances.

2) It’s useful for treatment of GI cramps and spasms with nervous origin and GI nervous ulcer.

3) Lowering heart rate in tachycardia and decreasing risk of arrhythmia with nervous origin.

 

 

Mechanism of action:

Valerian plant contains valerenic acid, which decreases the destruction rate of Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA), hence the concentration of GABA will increase in the synaptic cleft. Dried extract of valerian also can increases the GABA secretion from synaptosomes. The passion flower extract contains benzoflavone and can inhibit [(3) H]-GABA uptake into cortical synaptosomes but has no effects on GABA release. It can also be used to increase quality of sleep and reducing anxiety. Apigenin content in passion flower prevents gastrointestinal spasms.

 

 

Dosage:

1) As sedative: take 1-2 tablets, 2-3 times per day.

2) As hypnotic: take 1-2 tablets, half an hour before bed time.

3) In case of nervous gastric spasms: take 1 tablet, 3 times per day.  

 

 

Side effects:

None-Known.  

 

 

Contraindications:

Liver cirrhosis.  

 

 

Interactions:

Valiflore can interfere with other sedative and hypnotics, so consult your health care provider in this condition.  

 

 

Precautions:

1) Take the medicine with caution, if using other sleep disorder medications.

2) It could last some time to reach the maximum efficacy.
