Dosage form:

60 tablets in a PET including leaflet in the box.  

 

 

Ingredients:

Chinese rhubarb, Ginger, Jimson weed and Purified honey.  

 

 

Introduction:

This medicine consists of Chinese rhubarb and Jimson weed (datura) which has antiinflammatory, astringent and antibacterial activity. All parts of Datura plant contains high levels of the tropane alkaloids, atropine, hyoscyamine, and scopolamine, which are classified as deliriants,or anticholinergic. In traditional medicine rhubarb root was taken and recognized as means to cure stomach ailments and as cathartic (an agent used to relieve severe constipation).  

 

 

Indications:

1) Relieving and suppressing withdrawal syndrome of opioids.

2) Chronic headache.

3) Controlling motion sickness.

 

 

Mechanism of action:

Jimson weed contains high levels of atropine, hyoscyamine, and scopolamine. These alkaloids has anticholinergic and scopolamine sedative properties enable it to be used in the control of motion sickness.Ginger can prevent nausea and vomiting and acts as an appetizer because of gingerol content.

 

 

Dosage: 

Unless otherwise prescribed, take one or two tablets per day.  

 

 

Side effects: 

In case of toxicity bradycardia, flushing, illusion, blurred vision, dry mouth, redness of skin, urinary retention, constipation and atropine like side effects maybe occur.  

 

 

Contraindications:

In case of allergic reaction to any component of medicine. Glaucoma, GIT obstructions, unstable cardiovascular conditions, fever, hyperthyroidism, hyper tension and pulmonary disease.  

 

 

Interaction: 

Interact with other anticholinergic drugs.  

 

 

Precaution: 

Take high amount of water during the regimen.  

 

 

Using during pregnancy:

restricted.  

 

 

Using during lactation:

restricted.
