Dosage form: 

30 tablets in a PET including leaflet in the box.

Ingredients: 

Cape Aloe, Chebulic Myrobalan, Turpeth, Mastic, Red rose.   

Introduction: 

This medication consists of Cape Aloe, which has analgesic activity as well as increasing immunity. Laxative action of this substance also approved by FDA.   

Mechanism of action:

Aloe contains anthraquinone compounds like aloin A and aloin B, glucomannans and plant growth hormones like giberlin. Glucomannan derivatives cause an increase in CD4+ cells and stimulate biosynthesis and release of IL-1 and TNF from macrophages hence they can strengthen immune system.Aloin causes mucous secretion and increases colon motility. This substance also can inactivate some viruses.Glucomannan and giberlin stimulate collagen biosynthesis and accelerate wound healing.Aloe has anti-inflammatory properties due to its inhibitory effects on cyclooxygenase and prostaglandin biosynthesis.

Indications:

1) Increasing immunity.

2) Relieving dysmenorrhea.

3) Gastrointestinal tract tonic.

4) Relieving acute constipation.   

Dosage: 

Unless otherwise prescribed, take one tablet at bed time in a period of 20-40 days as needed.  

Side effects: 

Cramp is possible. In long term use regimen it may cause imbalance of water and electrolytes specially potassium, albumin and hematuria.   

Contraindications:

Obstruction of colon, inflammatory bowel disease, crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, appendicitis and serve abdominal cramps with unknown source. For children below 12 years is not recommended. In case of allergy to any component of medicine.   

Interactions:
Digoxin, diuretics, warfarin and other anthraquinone derivatives.   

Precautions: 

Don’t use long term period without prescription. The Cynarol tablet can be added to regimen to synergize the action. 

Using during pregnancy: 

Restricted due to anthraquinone compounds.  

Using during lactation:

It may change the taste of milk and cause cramp in infant.
