Quality Assurance and Quality Control Department
Quality assurance as the mainstay of quality management covers all scopes of the quality control department. In fact, this department monitors laboratory activities and the performance of good laboratory practice (GLP) as well as the quality management system. In addition, it establishes a systematic process for identifying and evaluating quality risk management to improve the products quality. The quality control department has been created in order to assure the quality and efficacy of the products at all stages of preparation before and post marketing. For this purpose, the NIAK's quality control department is composed of laboratories such as: phytochemistry, instrumental analysis, pharmaceutical, microbiological, and in-process quality control (IPQC). The laboratories are able to perform physico-chemical and microbiological tests based on valid guidelines derived from the up-to-date pharmaceutical references including united states of America, British, European, German, French, , Iranian Herbal Pharmacopoeia, Iranian National Standards, as well as Unani pharmacopoeia of India and some valid In-House methods. The system currently employs a team of 16 experienced and trained experts with doctoral degrees in pharmacy, phytochemistry, Ph.D. in Plant Biology, Masters and BSc in Chemistry and Microbiology.
