Dosage form: 

100 tablets in a PET including leaflet inside a box.  

Ingredients:  

Chebulic myrobalan, Belleric myrobalan, Emblic myrobalan, Turpeth, Senna, Common polypody, Lavender.   

Product description: 

LavenTrip or Lavander triphala in addition to myrobalans contains lavander which is antidepressant, sedative and nerve tonic. Since in Iranian traditional medicine approach, one of the major cause of pression and anxiety is due to liver and gastric impairments, senna, turpeth and etc are added to formulation.   

Indications:

1-Depression, nerve weakness, obsession disorders.

2- Arthritis, headache. (Due to excretion of black bile and thick humors.) 

Mechanism of action:

Myrobalans have high antioxidant power because of Tannin content. Emblic myrobalan is high in Ascorbic acid and can be effective in mucous formation in gastrointestinal system.Lavender essential oil has active compounds like linalool and linalyl acetate which has sedative and anxiolytic effects. It has been seen in some studies that lavender essential oil can interact with NMDA receptors and serotonin transporters. Sedative effect of common polypody is due to its saponin and polypodine A, B contents and because of caffeic acid content, it can be beta-adrenoreceptor stimulant.  

Dosage: 

Unless otherwise prescribed, take 1-2 tablets after each meal.   

Side effects:

It may cause diarrhea and abdominal cramps which will reduce gradually during treatment period.   

Contraindications: 

In case of allergy to any component of medicine.   

Interactions: 

With other laxatives.   

Cautions: 

1- If it prescribes with laxatives, the dosage of laxatives must be reduced.

2- Complete the treatment period which is at least 1-2 months.

3- If you forgot a dose, skip it and continue with your normal schedule.  

Notes:

This medication heals the disease after treatment period and is not a pain reliever.   

Using during pregnancy:

Not recommended due to abdominal spasms which may cause abortion.   

Using during lactation:

Use with caution and physician prescription only.

It may change the taste of milk and may cause mild diarrhea in infants.
